Concept:
I moved from Tokyo to Tokushima and began working with indigo dye on washi paper. At the same time, my living environment shifted from the city to a place surrounded by nature.
Working with indigo every day is a repetitive process. Yet, as long as it is done by hand, the same color is never created twice. Each time, it reveals a new expression.
This sensation reminded me of something else. When I look up at the sky, sometimes it is a clear, uninterrupted blue; at other times, the moon, the sun, or clouds appear.
I realized there was a commonality between them.
By layering this sensation with an everyday perspective, I created this series.
東京から徳島に移住し、和紙を藍染する仕事を始めた。
同時に、生活環境も都心から自然の中へと移り変わった。
日々藍に触れていると、それは繰り返しの作業でありながら、手仕事である限り、同じ色が二度と生まれることはない。その都度、新たな表情が現れる。
この感覚は、あるものに似ていると感じた。
空を見上げると、どこまでも澄んだ青の日もあれば、月や太陽、雲が現れる時もある。
その共通性に気づいたとき、これだ、と思った。
私はその感覚を日常の視点と重ね合わせ、このシリーズを生み出した。

本作品は、日本の和紙が持つ普遍的な美しさと豊かな表情を表現した一点ものです。
天然の和紙繊維を用いた手仕事により制作されています。お手入れの際は、やわらかい乾いたブラシで、やさしく埃を払ってください。

Each piece is handmade using natural washi fibers. To care for the work, gently remove dust with a soft, dry brush.
